The Pink Hearse
The Final Ride Plan Their Celebration

Funeral planning & consulting · All of California

Someone to carry it with you.

Did you know embalming is almost always optional? That you can hold a viewing at home? Build your own casket? A funeral home shows you only what it can sell. We show you everything.

Think of us as your unbiased travel guide to the afterlife: no hidden agendas, no upselling, no unnecessary costs. We educate, advocate, and guide — we never push.

Our approach

Planning a funeral can be extremely stressful. It can also be a rewarding experience — yes, even a joyful one — with the right ally beside you. Whether a loved one has already passed or you're planning ahead, Sara, a California-licensed funeral director and consumer advocate, will help you navigate California funeral law and every deathcare option open to you.

You control how much or how little we assist: from a one-hour consultation to extensive planning and directing. The goal is always the same — a ceremony that leaves a lasting impression, just like their life.

What we do

  • Present every disposition option available in California, and where to find it
  • Advocate for your rights as a consumer — and your freedom to grieve your own way
  • Explain what California law requires during a funeral — and what it doesn't
  • Help you prepare the documents to have ready in the case of a death
  • Design personalized ceremonies and unique rituals for the service you've planned
  • Guide home funerals, or time with your loved one before funeral-home pickup
  • Sit beside you in funeral-home meetings as your advocate
  • Find the memorialization that truly suits their personality

What we don't do

  • We never receive a commission or incentive to recommend anything
  • We never push you toward anything you don't want
  • We don't give legal advice or prepare legal documents
  • We are not a funeral home, and not associated with one
  • We don't handle your loved one's body or any disposition
